The Waste King brand, a subsidiary of the Anaheim Manufacturing Company, is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of commercial and residential grade garbage disposals. The label is synonymous with quality and the incorporation of cutting edge technology into their products. The Waste King 9920 Legend Series is a shining example of what the brand’s garbage disposals can do.
The best qualities of this model are its power and durability, its compact design, simple installation, and plentiful grinding power. The Waste King 9920 (see today's price) has enjoyed overwhelmingly positive reviews from buyers, and since the 9920 is backed by a two-year warranty from the manufacturer, it makes a solid bet for homeowners who are looking for a model that will provide them with many years of service.

My Story and Experiences
I ordered and received my Waste King 9920 Garbage Disposal about eight months ago, and it does what I ask it to with a minimal amount of noise. Installation was not difficult; although, I did run into one problem (due to my inability to read directions properly), and I had to call Waste King’s customer service line. The hold time was only a few minutes, and the gentleman I talked to provided accurate and concise answers. He must have installed a few of these himself. The pre-installed power cord eliminated the need to call a professional electrician to install it.
My last garbage disposal was a 1/3 HP model, and after some research, I figured out that a ¾ HP model was going to be overkill for my household’s needs. The 9920, with its ½ HP motor, offered a happy medium. There is also the added bonus that it was on sale at the time I bought it, and I am a total cheapskate.
Some of the reviews I’ve read have indicated that the Waste King 9920 can handle anything you throw at it, but my initial experience was different. I crammed the disposal full of leftover spinach and collard greens and flipped the switch on. The unit struggled for a minute to get started, but ultimately, it finished the job. The continuous feed action is nice to have, and I like the fact that it is activated by a wall switch.
Since then, this garbage disposal has not once threatened to clog or jam. Waste King says that they include permanent magnets in the design of the motor in order to eliminate the likelihood of clogs. It has chewed up a 1/3rd of a cold, hardened lasagna, the peels of 7 large potatoes, and multiple half-eaten hot dogs and hamburgers without a hitch. The two-year warranty that Waste King offers adds an extra layer of reassurance that this model is a decent investment.
My Conclusion
The Waste King 9920 and its components work exactly how they are supposed to, and our household of five (plus a dog) has yet to run into any problems from it. It’s efficient and quiet, and the motor is powerful. For the amount of power it offers, you’d be hard pressed to find a more affordable option. This is one garbage disposal I would definitely recommend to a friend or family member.
